Globe Life is looking for talented business analyst professionals to join our IT Business Analysis team, supporting applications that enable the success of our sales organization. Assigned projects will range in size from focused small teams working over several months to large scale multi-year efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using business analysis techniques to ensure projects meet business needs, and will possess the ability to learn quickly, achieve a broad understanding of the company's business processes and IT systems, and contribute immediately to the overall success of project implementations.
* Utilize a variety of elicitation techniques to understand business needs, processes, and rules, and define associated functional and non-functional requirements * Produce detailed functional requirements documentation via FRDs, diagrams, gap analysis, use cases, mock-ups, and/or user stories * Apply strong research skills and the ability to track down complex and difficult-to-find business rules, calculations, forms, etc. * Evaluate and consider multiple perspectives (such as business user, compliance, developer, quality analyst, architect, and data steward) in order to help define a solution that takes into account the many layers of a system * Assist and provide guidance to the business and IT teams in the overall design of complex systems and to the development of integrations with internal and 3rd party systems * Understand and perform logical analysis to map out calculations, reporting, formulas, field information, and complex business rules * Ensure the consistent application of big picture thinking to business processes, systems, and designs * Maintain a solid understanding of the technology concepts applicable to supported systems and projects * Work closely with all project team members to ensure the successful delivery of business needs throughout a project * Identify and appropriately escalate potential project and requirements risks, and play an active role in addressing them * Become an IT specialist in the field of life and health insurance sales and administration * Identify, recommend, and implement standardization and industry best practices * Train and mentor other team members where appropriate
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Minimum of 7 years as a business analyst in an IT environment, with at least 2 of those years in a senior business analyst role * Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is preferred * Life insurance background and experience is a plus * Strong foundational technical understanding and the ability to apply technology concepts to business requests * Proven ability to align business needs with IT capabilities * Familiarity with a variety of current business analysis tools, techniques, and professional trends * Working knowledge of various SDLC methodologies, including iterative/agile approaches * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitation skills, and the ability to communicate successfully with a variety of technical, non-technical, and leadership audiences * Experience with Microsoft TFS and UI mock-up tools is a plus * Must have an inquisitive nature, detail-oriented approach, and be able to learn quickly and overcome project obstacles with ease
