Verisign, a leader in domain names and internet infrastructure, enables internet navigation for many of the world's most recognized domain names. Verisign enables the security, stability, and resiliency of key internet infrastructure and services, including providing root zone maintainer services, operating two of the 13 global internet root servers, and providing registration services and authoritative resolution for the .com and .net top-level domains, which support the majority of global e-commerce.

Verisign is seeking Engineers to join our team to help build Observability and Telemetry services. You will operate and automate the tools, services and infrastructure that directly impact the productivity of our engineering organization and production platforms. We are looking for Engineers who not only understand the fundamentals of designing scalable platforms, but also have a passion for architecting, building, and evangelizing infrastructure solutions.

This position is part of the Data Observability and Telemetry team who are responsible for a portion of Verisign's critical Data Lake infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

* Build scalable software to connect disparate systems together to allow users better visibility into how their services operate.
* Believe in measuring almost everything and striving to back our direction with strong data.
* Continue to enhance our Observability and Telemetry stack with platforms that support our distributed and highly available systems.
* Craft tools to create and enhance existing tools where they fall short.
* Provide on-going maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
* Produce comprehensive user and admin documentation around your implemented solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

* Comfortable working on the Unix command line.
* Experience with tools/services such as Elastic Stack, Splunk, Kafka, Prometheus, and Influx.
* Passionate about writing code preferably in Go, Python or Java (optional).
* Strong DevOps focus and experience building and deploying infrastructure using virtual machines, Linux Containers, Bare-metal, and cloud infrastructures.
* Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
* Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
* Depth of experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining high-capacity, high-availability, and scalable software.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
