Job Description

Role Summary:This position will be responsible for implementing Sensor Enablement and machine health as well as supporting Digital Transformation at the manufacturing sites across the GE Aviation CMC IPT. In this role, you will work with the broader GE Aviation Digital Technology team to install, maintain and support the Brilliant Manufacturing environment. You will also support digitization efforts including machine connectivity, data collection and visualizations, reporting and analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:The position of Sr Enterprise Application Engineer will require an understanding of concepts, methods and procedures related to Digital Technology and Brilliant Manufacturing initiatives in concert with the CMC IPT Brilliant Manufacturing Team and Site Digital Technology Leader

* Support initiatives for sensor enabled manufacturing technologies that drive predictability, productivity and profitability into the factory for manufacturing equipment and utilities systems


* Perform installations, assist product owners with configuration, maintenance, system administration, and operational support for the machine controls and compute environment


* Responsible for working independently on projects while contributing to the team on a variety of levels


* Engage team members for guidance and escalation of items as needed


* Basic project management skills: ability to estimate scope, and work to deadlines.


* Enable and support digital factory concepts at the site including machine connectivity, sensor enablement, data visualization, mobility, etc.


* Provide technical support for site specific software such as: Factory Management, Analytics, HMI / SCADA, etc.


* Drive the resolution of IT issues in a timely manner


* Strong communication and collaboration skills: ability to work with other teams to identify issues and remediate through root cause identification


* Leverage existing solutions and global design to drive standardization and simplification to reduce implementation timelines and costs


* Maintain documentation on all IT systems, installations, and configurations


* Ensure conformance of established IT architecture, standards, and practices

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited university or college (OR High School Diploma with 5 years of professional experience)

Desired Characteristics:

* Hands-on experience within a shop floor manufacturing environment supporting manufacturing execution applications and processes


* Experience programming machine controllers


* Experience developing HMI / SCADA interfaces including use of CIMPLICITY


* Experience writing / supporting MTConnect adapters and agents


* Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN and Agile


* Experience with client/server operating systems with a knowledge of Windows OS


* Self-motivated and passionate about learning new technologies


* Strong oral and written communication skills


* Proven analytical and problem resolution skills


* Quality and cost driven


* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
