About the Role
The Marketplace Team tackles some of the hardest quantitative problems related to improving Uber's real-time marketplace, which impacts the everyday experiences of our riders and driver partners. We are looking for a Senior Manager who can lead multiple key initiatives.

What You'll Do
* Lead teams working on driver pricing, incentives, and associated real-time systems and machine learning. * Driving the vision and execution of the platforms for pricing and incentives that unify our architecture and enable optimization across pricing levers, understanding product goals and working with your engineering peers to ensure the platforms being built are one step ahead of product needs. * Collaborating with Data Science and Engineering to build production grade machine learning and optimization algorithms and delivering product impact.
What You'll Need
* Experience. Experience managing engineering teams of 20+ engineers. Working across office locations (SF & PA for this role). Significant experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust platforms. Experience growing tech leads to enable your team to scale. * Quantitative Algorithms: Getting sophisticated quantitative algorithms into production. Understanding how to robustify prototype algorithms when scaling in production. * Platform Experience: Experience building platforms that serve multiple business needs using reusable components. Designing with a one year+ horizon while delivering on immediate needs incrementally. Ability to build for evolving product requirements rather than a specific vision of a product iteration. Experience working with multiple product managers with competing priorities and making the appropriate technical trade-offs. * Engineering excellence. You are a strong technical leader with deep knowledge of distributed systems and data pipelines. Bonus if you have a background in batch and real-time large scale data processing systems (Storm, Spark, Flink etc.), graph processing technologies etc and expertise with internals of distributed data storage systems (Cassandra etc.) * Mentorship.
