Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Match Affinity team. This team is responsible for the development of our community-focused dating platforms. We have several leading sites, including OurTime, Blackpeoplemeet, Chispa and BLK. We are responsible for developing mobile applications for millions of users.

What's my day-to-day?

Develop new features and implement changes to existing features for a small and growing portfolio of leading online dating products. You'll be using your Android expertise to work with our Product team and create amazing experiences for our users. We strive to keep our apps current and you'll also be helping us to review and improve our architecture and implementations. We have a large majority of our apps in Kotlin, so it's a great chance to start working with a new technology right away.

What's the team like?

We're a small team within a bigger company. We like variety. We work fast, meet tight deadlines, and still manage to write code the right way. We have technical debates openly and make big decisions as a team.

What technical skills are we looking for?

* Strong knowledge of Java or Kotlin
* Deep understanding of the Android SDK
* Android UI Skills (Fragments, ConstraintLayout, etc.)
* Experience with advanced animations & fragment transitions
* Experience with Reactive programming/RxJava is a plus
* Experience consuming data from web services
* Familiarity with MVVM/MVC/MVP concepts
* Troubleshooting skills and experience with instrumenting apps
* Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions
