Job Description

Marvell is rapidly growing its SSD storage business with innovative new controllers, software development kits and full turnkey firmware offerings. As part of this growth we are looking for a new Director of FW Development to manage our US based FW development teams focused on Data Center solutions.

This opportunity is available in either our Irvine or Santa Clara, California offices

What You Will Be Doing

As the Director of Firmware Development, you will be responsible for managing a team of 25 - responsible for design, implementation, verification and customer support of our Data Center and Enterprise SSD FW, working as part of the larger worldwide Firmware team.

Your team will have responsibilities for developing the core of the product firmware and coordinating with other firmware teams supplying components or processes in support of your projects.

As a Director of this team, you will interact with different teams such as SoC design, SoC validation, SQA, Field Application Engineers and customers. We work in and continue to refine an Agile development process focused on test driven development and continuous integration.

Education & Experience Necessary for Success

* BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar area
* Strong Software/Firmware engineering background
* 15 years of relevant experience with a progression of leadership
* 5+ years of management experience leading a large team
* 5+ years of experience of development of storage related FW for data center or enterprise
* Experience with firmware development within an SoC development organization
* Knowledge of C, Python and embedded firmware tools and techniques
* Track record of delivering products to market
* Willingness to travel
* Good communication skills in English
