Fred Hutch Center for Data Visualization (CDV) is seeking a senior interactive visualization engineer passionate about translating promising research data into compelling visual narratives and exploratory tools. The applicant should be comfortable driving projects from idea through user experience, design, and development. As a senior engineer, you should feel comfortable working with front-end technologies including WebGL, WebWorkers, and frameworks such as React and Angular. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with implementing REST services that interact with multiple data stores and Machine Learning libraries. Working at the intersection of Biology, Computer, and Data science will provide an unparalleled opportunity to grow and apply new skills. * Driving product development from ideation to deployment and sustainment * Develop requirements, wireframes and technology architecture * Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional team members * Provide technical oversite and mentorship to data science, research, and junior engineers * Write client-side code for web-based applications, create fast, easy-to-use, high volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly * Optimize web applications to maximize speed and scale * Build libraries and frameworks to support large, complex web applications * Work independently and as part of the development team to prioritize multiple stakeholders and tasks, and manage work time efficiently
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience * 10+ years of experience in Software Development * 7+ years of experience in Front-end web technologies and trends * 5+ years of experience in multi-tier large scale web architecture * Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as part of a project team * Ability to learn new programming skills and research methods as needed
