GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Sr. Automation Developer has the responsibility for delivering Blue Prism automated processes under the supervision of experienced and accredited process developers. The first year of this role is to support standing up the automation function, which includes establishing the competencies of the function and partnering with the operational departments to develop automations.

This role will then expand to serve a leadership role to support day to day operational responsibilities associated with maintaining Blue Prism across the enterprise such as general maintenance of the existing automations and the automation platform. In addition, continuing functions of this role will include exploration and implementation of new RPA opportunities within Partners Corporate and assisting in the development of RPA connected automations with of higher classifications of automation such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Candidates will be provided & are expected to complete Blue Prism training and certification(s) and then typically work closely with accredited Blue Prism consultant(s) or developers during a skilling and mentoring period as part of an agility program delivery phase.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Designing Blue Prism process solutions in accordance with standard PHS design principles and conventions
* Providing a superior level of experience and knowledge of the Blue Prism solution and associated methodology to support colleagues through the Blue Prism delivery lifecycle and Accreditation Program
* Mentoring colleagues through the Blue Prism training and accreditation program - providing advice and guidance on best practice and development techniques
* Creating and maintaining process design documentation (PDD)
* Providing architecture control and guidance for automated process design and the documents required through the end-to-end automation development & implementation process
* Supporting peer review of automation scripts developed by others
* Identifying new process opportunities and accurately analyzing and estimating new processes, quickly assessing feasibility
* Configuring new Blue Prism processes and objects using core workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable and easy to understand
* Supporting existing processes and implementing change requirements as part of a structured change control process
* Identifying and communicating the technical infrastructure requirements
* Problem solving issues that arise in day to day running of Blue Prism processes and providing timely responses and solutions as required
* Working within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process
* Creating and documenting test procedures and scenarios for the pre-UAT phases
* Supporting the Operational Teams during UAT and rollout phases
* Supporting active monitoring of developed automations in the Blue Prism control room
* Supporting the DIA Administrator's automation platform maintenance, troubleshooting, & improvement
* Supporting DIA Program Manager's management of projects in the automation pipeline as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree required
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in the successful delivery and support of Excel macros, Visual Basic scripts or other configuration/scripting type technology
* Experience and knowledge of Business/System Analysis in a structured environment
* The aptitude to contribute to the evolution of methodologies and procedures in a controlled manner to continually improve a rapid and repeatable delivery channel
* A working knowledge of current business processes and the ability to understand new business processes
* A track record in training and mentoring individuals on development and delivery disciplines
* Must have experience with end-to-end application testing, defect management, change and release management and escalation processes
* Blue Prism (AD01) certification required, or commitment to obtain certification within the first 6 months on the role

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

* Understanding of workflow-based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and conceptualize it as an automated solution
* Willingness and ability to blend business analysis with hands-on configuration of automated processes in the Blue Prism product
* The ability to learn quickly and progress rapidly from theoretical exercises to real world delivery and mentoring tasks
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interview process owners, gather business process details and identify solution requirements
* Good written skills with the ability to clearly document and explain business processes and automated solution designs
* Good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience
* The ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind
* An understanding of, and a willingness to adhere to, formal change control procedures and disciplines
* Oversees quality checks and facilitates peer code reviews
* Time management skills and the ability to simultaneously work on multiple automations
* A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team
* Excellent relationship-building skills
* A good understanding of PHS processes and applications

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The working conditions are consistent with a fast-paced, automated office environment; where the management of multiple tasks and priorities is constant. Off-hours and weekend support may be required.
