Position Description/Overview:

Press Ganey currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Developer (Informatica) in our Chicago, IL or Baltimore, MD office. This role will support Clinical Solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Design and implement software application enhancements and bug fixes
* Participates in iteration and release planning
* Adheres to core design and testing principles
* Understands and interprets detailed technical specifications
* Follows and updates the design specifications as needed
* Learns and follow standards, processes and procedures
* Authors supporting documentation
* Prepares own work for inclusion in the release/deployment management process
* Participates in peer technical reviews
* Troubleshoots identified problems and provides support and follow-up for issues
* Completes assigned design tasks within the time allotted

Qualifications:

* Strong software engineering skills on the Informatica platform (including PowerCenter, IDQ, and MFT)
* Experience with large scale data integration and ETL projects.
* Knowledge of health care data standards, including ASC X12 837 and HL7, is beneficial
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem solving skills
* Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile environment.
* Thorough understanding of data structures and object-oriented techniques
* Knowledge of basic statistics
* Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server
* Project task multi-tasking and prioritization, Individual time management
* Agile software development environment (such as a Scrum team environment)
* Bachelor's Degree or comparable broad-based work experience is required. Advance training or certification in software design/development is an advantage.
* Experience in JSON, API and development methodologies promoting separation of concerns.

Experience:

* 8 to 10 years in Informatica development
* 4+ data integration and ETL development experience
* Code reviews and code review participation
* Ability to communicate best practice solutions to other developers
* Ability to present technical ideas and work with development teams to identify best practice solutions

Education:

* BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
