Position Summary:

Collaborates with department leadership, OCIO, clinical and service line staff in providing systems analysis, design, programming and database support to assigned hospital, practice and/or research projects. Leads, guides and trains lower level analysts, and monitors status of assigned projects. Adheres to Health System and departmental policies and procedures and The Joint Commission regulatory agency requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborates with client and project team members to develop specifications of data management systems (including scientific and statistical metrics, as necessary) for assigned project. Participates in the design, implementation, and maintenance of system applications.

2. Writes computer program specifications and uses program packages to automate data management applications for assigned projects.

3. Programs database structure and attributes according to specifications; sets up required data files, screens, reports and macros.

4. Sets up required data management quality assurance systems to track data flow and maintain data quality. Efficient on SQL Server, T-SQL queries.

5. Manages assigned databases; identifies and troubleshoots software problems; documents all programming and maintains Standard Operating Practices for department.

6. Participates in troubleshooting application problems. Documents all software issues, solutions and outcomes for future reference. Reviews software problems, analyzes issues and develops potential solutions.

7. Implements vendor system enhancements and customer programs, as necessary. Reviews and evaluates user requests/needs and implements necessary/ appropriates changes.

8. Uses knowledge of present and planned applications installed or to be installed, has expertise in healthcare applications, including but not limited to ARIA, Mosaiq, Velocity, Eclipse. Ensures the proper tools are in place for departmental areas to function properly.

9. Uses standard problem management methodologies. Tests updated systems to ensure quality assurance standards have been met.

10. Implements vendor system enhancements and custom programs. Follows established program change control methodologies for all clinical systems modification and maintenance projects.

11. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Financial Management or related field, required.
* Minimum of five (5) years programming/systems experience, required.
* Experience with clinical systems, physician practices, revenue, patient management and/or billing systems, preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of federal, state and third party regulations, required.
* Earlier Healthcare IT work experience required.
