Perspecta has an upcoming needs for an SQL Server DBA in Crystal City, VA.

Job Description:

* Ability to interface with personnel at all levels of the organization.
* Experience with database security and performance tuning.
* Product support experience for database deployment of upgrades and patch releases.
* Experience working in a virtual environment preferred.
* Clear and effective communicator - both oral and written.
* Experience with database creation, data loading.
* Experience with development and management of operational procedures.
* Experience with database health (e.g. monitoring, proactive and reactive responses), resource planning, backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation.
* Experience hardening databases per DISA STIGs.

Qualifications

* Must currently hold an Active Secret Clearance.
* 8-10 years' experience as a Database Administrator supporting a Production database environment.
* Security +(CE) certificate and a computing environment certification.
* Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
* SQL Server 2012 administration, MS Server 2008R2, 2012R2 Expierience, DISA STIGs
* Advanced understanding of RDBMS databases such SQL Server and Oracle.
* Advanced understanding of modern software design and development methodologies (e.g., OO).
* Experience on multiple full release project life cycles. Advanced understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
* Advanced understanding of testing tools and unit test and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.
* Advanced experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio) and development of tool add-ins. Strong understanding of basic Database Administration.
* Able to define quality and security standards. Good verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
* General project management/team leader skills. Ability to work effectively in a globally dispersed team and with clients and vendors.
* Demonstrated technical leadership skills
