Job Description

Role: We are looking for a talented database DBA with an outstanding track record. They will manage production and staging database MSSQL, SSRS and SSAS servers. Position requires a committed, self-motivated individual reflecting skills in maintaining and improving a large database environment. This individual contributor will collaborate and work closely with development teams, leads, architects and application developers to create, maintain databases for business-critical processes and applications. The right applicant will possess strong skills in latest technology and features used like SQL Server 2016/2017, Replication, Clustering, and Always-On. Responsibilities:

* Administer Microsoft SQL Servers versions SQL 2008 to SQL 2017 and proactively address issues to ensure optimum performance. Maintain database integrity, stability and availability.
* Design, Setup and Manage replication for the articles across multiple database servers involving multiple publishers and subscribers.
* Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems and be available for rotating on-call production support.
* Will work with the offshore database team.
* Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
* Implement controls, policies, processes and best practices in the database admin area.
* Provide reliable and efficient DBA services as part of the database team.
* Work closely with the devs on development best practices, designs and standards.
* Work on interesting and complex Performance problems.
* Learn required skill to support the Autosys environment and ready to work with off shore Autosys support team on day to day issues.

Qualifications:

* 3+ years as a Database Technologist with Database Administration (SQL Server 2005/2008R2/2012/2016/2017).
* Experience at a hedge fund or buy side firm is a plus.
* BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math or related technical field is preferred.
* Experience with MS SQL database running in a Virtual environment running Windows.
* Expertise in writing complex T-SQL queries and stored procedures
* Must have very good knowledge of writing T-SQL queries, Stored Procedures
* Should have Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
* Should have in Depth Knowledge/Experience of Replication, Always On, Backup/Restore, Performance tuning.
* Hands on Performance tuning skills is plus
* Should have good understanding of SQL Server Security and architecture.
* Hands on skills in SQL/TSQL and in at least one scripting language.
* Strong knowledge of SQL server Internals and best practices is plus.
* Knowledge of NoSQL Databases like MongoDB and Hadoop is added plus.
* Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers).
* Experience in SQL Server RDBMS installation/configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking/tuning and back-up/recovery
* Some database design (Logical and physical) and development experience (to go with DBA skills) strongly preferred
* Some database Administration experience on Oracle 11G/12C is preferred
* Familiarity with Autosys workload is preferred
* Experience with custom or third-party Performance Monitoring tools e.g. Idera, Solarwinds Database Performance Analyzer etc.
* UNIX/Linux basic skills preferred
* Experience with AWS/Cloud Services good to know
* Technical documentation skills required.
