Job Description

Position Summary

The SQL Report Writer will work with our proprietary ERP and Salesforce platform to develop reports that meet organizational needs. This includes development of additional solutions along with the maintenance and modification of existing SQL Server Reporting Services reports.

Essential Functions

* Effectively, professionally, and respectfully represent other Information Technology staff members, teams, and their services to the MUIH community.
* Work with other IT staff members in writing and optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary, and establishing best practices.
* Develop reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity in both ERP and CRM platforms
* Create and manage users, profiles, roles, and permission sets in Salesforce
* Manage Salesforce objects and processes for the organization
* Ensure performance, security, and availability of all MUIH databases.
* Perform system implementation, configuration, and tuning
* Work closely with stakeholders to ensure all configurations, changes, and processes are aligned with organizational goals
* Attend planning meetings and assist with determining how to fully leverage ERP and CRM capabilities to meet MUIH goals
* Maintain and own data and system security and integrity in both ERP and CRM
* Troubleshoot escalated issues with Salesforce helpdesk
* Train and assist users on a regular basis on systems features and updates
* Work closely with the Admissions and Marketing Teams within Salesforce and Pardot to ensure data is clean and required fields are complete to support MUIH initiatives
* Prepare and execute data migration road-map for migrating large data from legacy system to ERP/CRM
* With the community culture in mind, the SQL Developer/Report Writer will serve on committees as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

* 4 years of experience of SQL development and client side scripting (jQuery/JavaScript/VBScript)
* 2-4 years of experience of C#, APEX, ASP.NET and Java
* Proven experience with HEDA open-source data architecture, Sales cloud, Lightning, SalesForce Connect and Visualforce
* Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements, Views, Store Procedures, T-SQL
* Must be adept at writing queries/reports and presenting findings
* Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
* Capable of troubleshooting common database issues

The SQL Report Writer will have a Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field, an associates degree with 8-10 years of related experience

Preferred:

* Proven experience and success with SQL development in an academic settings
* Extensive knowledge of ERP platform (Jenzabar, Ellucian)
* Proven experience with database & data organization and management
* 2-3 years of Salesforce administration experience
* Experience with SalesForce SOQL
* Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases

* Strong analytical skills and an understanding of system databases, data elements, and application software solutions to maximize data gathering and data analysis.
* Excellent documentation skills

This position requires handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. Customer interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. Individual must be able to gauge the customer's technical ability and communicate with them in appropriate technical or non-technical language in a non-condescending manner.
