Developer for Emerging Business Architecture and Technology Team

Critical, highly visible opportunity for a talented developer with strong product sensibilities and mindset / capabilities to drive the design of new platforms for Emerging Business Architecture and Technology team under Treasury Services.

This global team is responsible for products and platforms that leverage J2EE, Blockchain, AI and Machine learning and public cloud. Currently we are building a new platform for fraud detection and management using latest technologies and micro services architecture. The modular and composable architecture allows the opportunity to bring exciting new dimensions to the platform.

The successful applicant will work as part of the global team in development and delivery of major components of this platform and gets to work with multiple business and technology teams across the organization. This is developed in a highly disciplined, agile model with a focus on partnership and co-development in a vibrant internal open source community using cutting edge technologies.

Specialist Developer->> Provides application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation. Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data. May allocate/ coordinate work within a team/project. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Coordinates coding, testing, implementation and documentation of solution. Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

* Java, J2EE, Spring, REST API, Unix, RDBMS, Maven, Test driven development
* Experience in Angular JS would be preferred. Exposure to MQ Series, Kafka or any other JMS broker would be a plus
* Experience in or exposure to one of technologies in Drools, AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain is highly desirable
* Exposure to latest tech stack like Docker would be nice to have but isn't mandatory
* Agile / Scrum - continuous integration / delivery with experience working with multiple teams and evolving technology

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 6-8 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
