Security Services

The Security Services Department's overall mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and protect MIT Lincoln Laboratory at all facilities in which staff members perform their mission of research and development. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

Job Description

Special Security Representative II

Will work closely with senior security representatives and their assigned Laboratory programs with emphasis on all aspects of special security to include, Physical, Material, Personnel, Information Systems and Communications Security. Duties will require interaction with Laboratory staff and government security representatives. Will have demonstrated leadership and proficiency in oral presentations and written correspondence. Will maintain awareness of changes in security rules and regulations; assess impact of policy on existing procedures; and participate in the development, coordination, and implementation of changes. Will assist with development of Standard Operating Procedures, Operational Security Plans, Program Education, and Emergency Action Plans. Will also participate in the development of security specifications and designs for new secure facilities, and assist in the oversight of secure facility construction. Applicant must be able to support multiple programs and remote facilities.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in all administrative security disciplines within a Special Security environment with professional security experience in implementing NISPOM, DCID, JAFAN as well as familiarity with ICD policy required.
* Candidate must be able to work independently.
* Ability to successfully identify and resolve problems and issues.
* Thorough understanding of personal computer systems and networks as well as the associated policies and procedures is also required
* Solid working nowledge of PCs and associated business software such as MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
* Effective organizational and time management skills
* Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally within a cross-functional environment required
* A valid driver's license and personal transportation are required.
* Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies as needed.
* Position requires local and some overnight travel.
* The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information including compartmented programs.
* Current in scope Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
