Sonos is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our UX team. In this role, you'll lead, strengthen, organize and support a team of designers focused on new hardware UX and product experiences in several key categories and across the Sonos platform. You will work in partnership with UX and design leadership, product management, development and test engineering to deliver a roadmap of products and experiences that raise the bar on quality, natural interactions, and innovative, joyful experiences. You will be a critical part of a core team delivering products and experiences in key, innovative product categories.

What You'll Do

You're a design leader. You have an excellent record of leading teams to deliver products of the highest quality. You lead both the interactive and visual aspects of the design process, and through excellent interpersonal skills and working relationships you ensure alignment across all disciplines. You comprehend complex systems, turning them into efficient, delightful and cohesive product experiences across multiple platforms. You think strategically, but also execute projects with attention to detail. You thrive in a dynamic environment and stay on the leading edge of product experience trends, OS evolution, design processes and UX tools.

You're a people leader. You are recognized as a phenomenal people manager. Ensuring your team can work efficiently and effectively is one of your key responsibilities, and of paramount importance to you. You know how to champion your team, providing them with opportunities to develop their skills and grow their careers. You have a track record of successfully guiding designers to bring out their best results in both the short and long term, and you take real pleasure in doing so.

Skills You'll Need

* Provide design leadership, strategic guidance and detailed tactical direction for key hardware categories that encompass software enabled hardware experiences and capabilities, physical UI, sound and light communication, and product setup.
* Provide guidance, partnership, and deep engagement in always improving the art of how we work as a cross disciplinary team.
* Deliver strong project and career management for Sonos designers
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, software, and external partners
* Advocate for Sonos users as you strive to make the right product
* Travel to other Sonos offices, up to 10% of time, and travel to partner locations as needed
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as user experience design, industrial design, graphic design
