Job Purpose
National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented leader to lead Test Environment Management portfolio within our Solutions Development team as the Solutions Development Manager. This leader will be responsible for leading an organization of test engineers who plan, design, create, monitor and manage test environments to IT project delivery teams. As an experienced Solutions Development Manager, you will manage dedicated test environment management teams that incorporate customer-centric design thinking practices and standard Waterfall & Agile/Lean software development methodologies. This role will report to the Director of Solutions Development within the National Grid IT organization.
Key Accountabilities
* Maintains a central repository of test-environments in scope with their latest version and connectivity details (Information management)
* Scheduling of test environments as per the requirements of the project teams. (Demand management) and creation of new test environments as per requirement. (Supply management) and Environment Monitoring (Monitoring) and Deleting/ updating outdated test-environments and its details (Housekeeping) and Preliminary investigation of issues on the environment and sometimes co-ordination till an issue resolution (Incident Management)
* Analyzing data for environment issues, identifying trends and taking pro-active steps to resolve issues / co-coordinating for a long term fix. (Problem Management)
* Status Accounting to report on service, usage, and availability metrics to provide full transparency into test environment management activities
* Continuous Improvement to continuously evaluate test environment management services for improvement opportunities (people, process, and tools)
* Automation to eliminate manual tasks as much as possible to improve efficiency
* Prepares and presents program-level communications for executives and stakeholders
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in related field; Master's Degree preferred
* At least 10+ years of experience working in the technology industry with 3+ years in leadership role.
* Experience leading complex test environments landscapes involving hundreds of applications, middleware, legacy hardware and cloud environments
* Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Booking tool, Service management (ServiceNow) and Test Data Management tool
* Thorough knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
* Ability to promote and role model a team-oriented environment
* Ability to lead technology teams in different locations in the US
* Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills
* Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
* CSTP - Practitioner Level or Master Level Certification
* ITIL Foundations Certified
