AWS Ground Station is a fully managed global Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) that allows our customers to easily and cost-effectively control satellites, ingest and process satellite data, and innovate with other AWS Services. It provides satellite customers with ground station services with no ground station infrastructure commitments, usage-based per-minute pricing, self-service scheduling, and a global network of ground stations in close proximity to AWS Regions so customers can access AWS services, infrastructure and global network within milliseconds of downlinking data from their satellite.

AWS is looking for Principle Solutions Architects focused on AWS Ground Station for our US customers. This role requires experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and excellent interpersonal skills. You will focus on helping customers translate architectures into AWS which use our new AWS Ground Station service. You will partner with several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures for customers in the ground station space. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help customers understand best practices around advanced AWS architectures and AWS Ground Station solutions. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS across strategic global accounts. The successful candidate will possess experience working with ground station technologies and solutions, and be able to translate cloud computing concepts into business value for these accounts.

Roles and Responsibilities

* As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in architecting AWS solutions which use the AWS Ground Station services.
* Educate AWS Ground Station customers in our Strategic Accounts on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in in-depth architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
* Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to Ground Station customers considering or already using AWS.
* Bring together and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community, especially in regards to Ground Station solutions and patterns,.
* Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as blog posts and whitepapers.
* Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
* Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

This position is based in the Herndon, VA/Washington Metro Area (WMA).
