The Storage Solutions Architect will oversee the architecture, design and implementation of all storage initiatives supporting Mattel's global IT infrastructure. The architect will be expected to deliver multi-platform design solutions to projects of varying sizes and complexities on time and on budget.  The individual will also be responsible for establishing design standards within the storage tower and ensuring our operational teams are able to adhere to these. This position is a combination of a hands on and design and engineering role and reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure Systems Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead SME for global storage environments including NAS, SAN, DAS and virtualized storage.
* Lead SME for complex mission critical datacenter implementations/design replication. Examples include EMC VPLEX metro distributed volumes with VMAX federated storage, SRDF remote replication and TimeFinder/SnapVX snapshots. Additionally, with a high level of understanding of cloud storage architecture.
* Lead SME for storage FC zoning/configuration and monitoring.ad SME for all backup and archive environments.
* Develop architectural standards for all storage platforms.
* Develop management processes and standards for maintaining and monitoring the multiple storage environments.
* Define and maintain architectural, process and policy standards for storage systems.
* Analyzes the current architecture to identify deficiencies and develop implementation plans for improvements.
* Analyzes application/business requirements and develop multi-platform design solutions including DR.
* Help develop internal and outsourced team members to effectively delivery and support the environment.
* Provide SME level 3 / level 4 support to the Operations team.
* Global responsibly to work with all GIT teams to ensure that storage function is supporting the current and future needs of the business.
