Key Responsibilities

* The Solution Train Engineer (STE) facilitates multiple Agile Release Trains and facilitates Solution Train processes.


* Facilitate Solution Planning and PI Planning readiness via fostering the preparation of solution vision and backlog, and via Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.


* Aggregate output of PI Planning into Solution PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency.


* Manage and optimize the flow of value using various tools, such as the Solution Level Kanban and other information radiators.


* Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the Solution Train, Agile Release Train, and Agile Teams help improve lean and agile thinking.


* Coach leaders, other Solution Train Engineers, Release Train Engineers, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.


* Help configure SAFe to the needs organization, standardizing and documenting practices.


* Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Solution Kanbans, Solution Demos, and Program Increments (PIs).


* Is an evangelist of the overall Ways of Working derived as set by the Common Methodology team.


* Assist with execution of Capability and Capability-Enablers completion tracking.


* Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the Solution Train and Agile Release Train synchronization.


* Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating Capability and Capability-Enablers estimation and WSJF by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary.


* Help manage risks and dependencies.


* Escalate and track impediments.


* Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.


* Encourage collaboration between Solution and System Architects/Engineering and Agile Teams.


* Work with Solution and Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.


* Improve the flow of value through Value Streams, Solution Trains, Agile Release Trains, and Iterations using the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps.


* Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-in Quality practices.


* Primarily function as a servant leader fostering Lean-Agile Continuous Delivery DevOps mindsets



Qualifications

Key Requirements

* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent in a related field such as information technology, computer science, or business administration.


* 2 years of direct professional experience as a SAFe Solutions Train Engineer or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


* SAFe Certified


* Agile management tools (e.g. JIRA), requirements tools (e.g. JIRA)


* Ability to express and present ideas effectively orally and in writing.


* Must be highly proficient in problem solving and have strong organizational and analytical skills.


* Ability to interface/communicate professionally with management and other employees.


* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.


* Ability to handle and meet multiple deadlines and priorities. Ability to use word processing, databases and spreadsheet programs; preferably MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other systems.
