Job Description

The Data Services Solution Design Consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex technology data solutions for the enterprise. Responsibilities include interfacing with IT, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data Governance, Business and Vendor partners to understand and influence requirements and technical solutions and support of technical solutions built by vendors and BSC resources. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end data management and data integration methodologies and strategies.

Responsibilities:

Lead design and development activities on concurrent and future complex data initiatives with multi-source systems and deliver high quality integrated data hub. Provide technical guidance in designing and implementing large-scale, complex enterprise applications requiring high performance and availability. Be able to synthesize complex data/information and lead complex technical implementations. Ability to matrix manage/organize others with the IT organization in order to get work done quickly. Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required. Consults and makes recommendations to management on significant issues.

* Expert in one or more of the database and database appliances in use in BSC (Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM Puredata (Netezza), MySQL), SQL, ETL, ELT, Shell Scripting and procedural languages.
* Strong knowledge of data, big data management, data warehouse and data virtualization design patterns.
* Experience working with multiple Data Integration, Master Data Management, Data Reconciliation, Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Virtualization tools like Informatica PowerCenter, IBM Infosphere MDM, Infogix Assure, Informatica Data Quality, and Denodo.
* Strong technical understanding of data modeling, data mining, data integration, data architecture, data warehousing and data quality techniques.
* Knowledge of business intelligence and analytical tools like Business Object, Tableau, SAS is preferred.
* Strong ability to analyze business requirements and transform into technical design and system solutions.
* Experience in understanding requirements, preparing technical solution design documents, process, and data flow diagrams. Ability to effectively communicate status, design, and approach to management/business sponsors/product managers.
* Self-directed works with limited management direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
* Demonstrated experience working with vendor partners, cross-functional and development teams in terms of end to end technical delivery.
* Strong analytic, process flow, problem-solving, communication, customer service, organization skills, required.
