Experience and Education

High school graduation supplemented by successful completion of vocational training in computer programming and five (5) years computer operation and programming experience, including at least one (1) year as Software Systems Specialist I or equvalent.

Job Duties

* Participates in analysis of software system problems of moderate complexity and formulates and implements solutions to such problems.


* Performs programming, testing, and documentation.


* Recommends development of system routines needed for efficient use of computer system resources; designs approved routines; oversees implementation.


* May specialize in specific area of system software, such as telecommunications or information systems with responsibility for implementation and maintenance.


* Periodically participates in planning of enhancements and modifications to software; identifies impact of such changes.


* Trains Software Systems Specialists I as required.


* Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.

* Assists supervisor with development and implementation of standard operating procedures for new and existing applications
* Maintain application security of department computer systems policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and regulated requirements and standards.
* Coordinates and executes the testing, documentation, and implementation of new and existing features, functions, and applications.
* Work with vendors as appropriate to ensure smooth operation of reporting and resolution of issues.
* Provides applications support and training to end users.
* Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in IT or a closely related discipline preferred
* Must be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively
* Experience interfacing with multiple systems on a variety of platforms.
* Experience with Mosaiq OIS applications is a plus.
