This person is responsible for design, support, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises infrastructure and services hosted using Linux and Windows. Required Skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Linux / Windows administration, including servers, server clusters, backups, and storage
* Server and desktop hardware specification, installation, and maintenance
* Maintain security of systems and networks. This includes firewall management, host and network IDS, log monitoring and auditing, and enforcement of security policies
* Systems and infrastructure support of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) - availability, security, and performance
* Coordinate with Operations team to ensure proper implementation, support, and maintenance of distributed systems
* Lead problem and incident resolution of production issues escalated by Operations team
* Work with team members to create, execute, and maintain manual and automated deployment pipelines for multiple systems and environments (Azure DevOps, Git, Shell Scripts)
* Create, modify, and update written procedures, processes, and technical support knowledge effectively and use this knowledge to provide consultation to other units and to streamline future application moves

Required Experience

Qualified Candidates Ideally Possess the following:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
* 3+ years of working experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role
* Solid understanding of Linux systems
* Scripting experience using Bash, PowerShell, Perl, etc.
* Ability to work with command line via SSH
* Experience supporting server technologies such as DNS, Firewalls, Certificates, DHCP, Web servers (Apache/Tomcat/IIS)
* Experience with on-premises infrastructure and facilities administration and support (hardware, rack and power, environmental)
* Desire experience with enterprise backup systems such as BackupPC
* Desire experience with Linux clusters (Linux HA, Heartbeat, DRBD, etc.)
* Great interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team environment
* Self-starter willing to work in a dynamic environment with multiple technologies. Not afraid to learn on the job
* Bonus points for experience with any of the following - C#/C++/Java, Git, PostgreSQL, TFS, Azure DevOps

Office Hours & Travel:

Full Time, Monday-Friday. 20% travel. Some nights and weekends required.
