Job Description

SCOPE

The Software QA Manager is responsible for the Software Functional QA and Test Automation teams in the Information Services department at Mouser Electronics. The Software QA Manager is responsible for both tactical and strategic direction of the QA team in regards to: the testing of applications deployed by the IS team, continual maturing of software QA processes, selection of tools for software development and QA, driving agility in the QA process, and, in ensuring that the team members are on an on-going growth trajectory.

The Software QA Manager will interact and collaborate with a number of teams at Mouser, including Business Analysts, Project Managers, Software Developers, Business End Users and technology team members from other departments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Responsible for the direction of the Software Functional QA and Test Automation teams. Responsible for setting team direction and strategy, as well as for managing the activities, tasks, duties, professional growth of all team members under his/her supervision.
* Participate as part of the leadership team that oversees the complete software development lifecycle: defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading testing of new features within a fast-paced, agile environment.
* Staff, mentor, and maintain a first-class test automation/QA team.
* Lead in the design, maintenance and execution of manual and automated test cases for functional, API and end-to-end tests.
* Conduct analysis of performance testing results, evaluate the application performance and system capacity and compile performance test reports.
* Define, manage and improve the product development/test processes by working closely with software development managers, developers, BA's, PM's and other relevant Mouser team members.
* Ensure execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
* Deploy, manage, and develop scope, plans, resource allocation for testing to meet the organization's needs.
* Works directly with QA Analysts, Software Developers, Business Analysts and Project Managers to evaluate and test new or modified software programs, communicate status, follow software development procedures to ensure that programs function according to user requirements and established guidelines.
* Writes, revises and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain (maintain) quality of software.
* Makes recommendations for program improvements or corrections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

2-5 years Software QA team leadership experience.

Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to lead and manage a team of people.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

2-5 years' experience developing complex scripted tests using an automated test tools desired.

Demonstrated experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecyle, including all relevant types of Software QA:

* Unit Testing
* Functional Testing
* Integration Testing
* Regression Testing
* API Testing
* Load Testing.

Solid experience with Test Automation tools such as Selenium, HP UFT, etc.

Experience reviewing requirement documents to ensure that requirements are achieved.

Experience testing a variety of different types of software products, system architectures, OS platforms and languages desired.

Excellent communication and trouble-shooting skills with keen ability to solve problems.

Ability to work well independently and with a group.

Well organized and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to work nights and weekends on an as-needed basis.
