Job Description
Flowroute, a West company, is looking to add a Software Engineering Manager to our Seattle WA, office. The core focus of this position will be responsible for managing a variety of software engineering tasks including organize development efforts including product software development lifecycle (SDLC) planning, projects, and delegation of tasks according to established policies and procedures; oversee technical review including design reviews, software requirements, and project evaluations; identify and recommend procedural enhancements designed to streamline and improve the overall efficiency of departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Works with the VP of Engineering and TPM to understand delivery goals and challenges.
* Focus will be on architectural decisions and guidance, code reviews, improving the estimation of stories and KPI's around sprints.
* Day to day management of engineering activities and teams.
* Establish and maintain a professional relationship with internal/external customers, team members and department contacts.
* Provide technical consulting leadership and direction on assigned technical projects/tasks including selection of methods, techniques, prioritization and criteria to obtain quality results.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, management or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience:
* Minimum of five years increasingly responsible experience in software development required. Minimum two years supervisory or lead experience required. Project management experience preferred.
Technical
* Technical knowledge of one or more of the following languages, Python (Django/Flask), Golang, C/C , PostgreSQL, Java is required.
* Technical knowledge of Linux (Debian based distros), containerization, Ansible, and Amazon Web Services (Kinesis Firehose, Redshift, RDS, Lambdas, DynamoDB, S3, EC2, ECS, Fargate, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc) is preferred.
Other
* Experienced with Agile software development methodologies is required.
Technical knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design. CI/CD, (de)coupled systems, monolith vs micro services is required. Intermediate knowledge of MS Suite of office software packages preferred.
