Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a System Engineer Test in in our Chicago, Seattle, Louisiana (Lafayette) or Toronto office.

System Engineer Test are focused on ensuring quality of our software products including web applications, cloud services, cloud storage and Azure/AWS platform services. As a member of our product software engineering team, our test engineers will seek and follow modern development best practices for engineering automation testing, continuous integration, test planning, and identifying areas of our software that require more quality test coverage in order to produce rich and functional software products for our customers.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for identifying necessary test scenarios for technical solutions for our internal cloud software services or customer software products
* Write code for automated testing for front end, back end, and end-to-end system components
* Devise new or unique automated testing solutions when required for new technologies or third-party platform integrations
* Analyzes test coverage for systems and recognizes deficiencies
* Understands how to integrate automated tests into continuous integration pipelines
* Understands a broad spectrum of technology to provide automated testing solutions which meet requirements
* Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to product support engineers
* Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities when applicable
* Contributes to knowledge tools and communities and ensures project learning's are documented and shared. Solves diverse and complex problems
* Communicates with product software engineers and capable of working embedded within the team

Qualifications

* 1+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent degree; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (3+ years in total)
* Sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the implementation of deliverables within a field of expertise.
* Strong knowledge in .Net and at least three major technology areas
* Knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and browser testing
* Familiar with at least one frontend testing solution such as Selenium, Puppeteer, etc.
* Azure development experience desired, but not required
* Ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products
* Ability to apply technology to devise creative solutions for difficult problems
* Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence
* Demonstrates the use of creative thinking skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing
* Owns and produces technical documentation. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a technical document. Ability to translate verbal requirements from face to face meetings into requirements documents and user stories
* Able to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with team members, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. Able to estimate the amount of effort required to deliver assigned tasks
* Familiar with Behavior Driven Development
* Familiar with Continuous Integration
