Software Engineer, Security Team

Job Description

Carta's Security team is building tools, patterns and processes to improve security and create leverage across our organization.

We are looking for Software Engineers to build shared python packages, internal apps and tools to create pathways for developers to follow best practices, and automation to remove pain points for various areas of the business such as Sales, Support, and Services.

Our team is new and growing. You have the opportunity to help drive and mold what Carta's security team looks like in the future. If you're an automation champion, we'll likely grow in that direction. If you're a purveyor of useful abstractions, our code will likely start to move in that direction. You will become a go-to person for security guidance for the R&D department and start working on being a force multiplier on top of a contributor.

TL;DR: This is not a security job - this is a software engineering job that will have the greatest impact on the security of Carta's systems.

With this job you'll have the opportunity to be the face of high impact tools that will relieve pain for our organization and learn to weave security into everyday development and helping others to do the same.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years Full stack or back-end engineering experience, with strong systems fundamentals
* Experience with service oriented architecture
* Strong industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production quality backend systems.
* Professional Python experience
* Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React or Angular.js
* Strong communication skills
* Comfortable regularly working in team environments
* Experience architecting complex SaaS products
* Experience working with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and build thoughtful solutions
