Job Description

While we have offices in Seattle & Las Vegas, we are seeking the best talent to join our team and will consider REMOTE/TELEWORK options for candidates located anywhere in the US.

THE JOB

You'll be a core member of our Packaging and Publishing team, which is responsible for various tier-1 services in iStreamPlanet's Aventus media pipeline. The team is dynamic, fast moving and works with a wide variety of technologies from low level media processing to large scale distributed systems. We work on and build services that handle thousands of requests per second and move many gigabits of traffic. On our team, you'll have the opportunity to use a variety of software engineering disciplines and learn every day.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

* Own and deliver functionality across systems from inception to design to implementation and delivery to the customer.
* Collaborate with other engineers and business stakeholders to design and build solutions that delight customers and deliver business value.
* Contribute to developing loosely-coupled, service-oriented architectures with a bias for simple, elegant solutions.
* Participate on the team's 24x7 on-call rotation and help drive continuous dev-ops improvement.
* Unit test, load test, and document your code.
* Active participation in team sprint planning including scoping, prioritization, and breakdown of work into incremental deliverables.

THE ESSENTIALS

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
* 2-5 years of relevant professional experience.
* Strong understanding of one or more of the following languages: Go/C/C++/C#/Java/Python.
* Experience working with cloud services and infrastructure.
* Proven ability to deliver results by working both independently and collaboratively.

Nice to Have:

* Master's degree in technology or software-related field of study or equivalent experience.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent problem solving skills and a track record for learning new skills quickly.
* Expertise running services in AWS and/or Kubernetes.
* Experience architecting, designing, and building large scale distributed systems.
* Knowledge of critical data structures and algorithms.
* Experience working in streaming media, player development or integration.
* Strong understanding of network principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing fundamentals, etc.
* Experience with major Content Distribution Networks.
* Experience developing frontend web applications.
