Overview

The Software Engineer Lead will be responsible for designing and developing innovative web applications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Designing, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of applications to be used in commercial or end-user business areas related to sales, order management, service, and catalog applications
* Ability to translate functional designs into technical designs, and conversely to translate complex information into common terms
* Using state of the art technologies, develops and maintains responsive applications
* Accountable for partnering with key roles (enterprise architects, infrastructure, etc.) to create solutions that are aligned to architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services

Position Purpose and Requirements

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation andmaintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Basic Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of software engineer experience
* At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

* Master's degree and at least 6 years of software engineer experience
* At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

* At least 10 years of software engineer experience
* At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills:

* Experience designing and developing responsive applications
* Required Technical Skills: .NET 4.5x development, MSCE preferred, TFS (source code management), Web services including WCF, JQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, VB, VB Script, XML/XSL; Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Architectural design patterns
* Experience with at least one of the following databases: DB2 (v8.0 or greater), DB2 query, and DB2 Connect, Oracle, SQL Server
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* UX experience is a plus
* Experience working in a fast paced environment
