Software Engineer (JavaScript)

As a Capital One Software Engineer on the Semantic Engine development team, you will be utilizing all of your technical expertise across the stack, with a chance to dive deep into leading-edge, front-end technologies, or back-end frameworks and systems. In addition, you will be working in a variety of other technical areas, including cloud-based resilient services and APIs, automated testing know-how, and AI/machine learning/NLP, mobile technologies to build and refine our Semantic Engine offering. You will help drive forward the architecture and implementation of the application features and will act as a collaborative team member working in an agile environment. You are passionate about quality execution, and always strive to improve tools and processes to drive quality.

In this role you will have the opportunity to build something completely new, in a green-field area of technology that will be available to a significant number of Capital One's customers.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
* At least 2 years of software engineering experience
* At least 2 years of experience using JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications:

* At least 1 year of experience in programming languages such as React, or AngularJS
* At least 1 year of experience using a modern programming language such as Java, Python, Scala, NodeJS or Golang
* At least 1 year of experience building software in a continuous integration/delivery (CICD) environment, including building automated testing frameworks
* At least 1 year of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, or NLP (Natural Language Processing)
* At least 1 year of Application architecture experience with scalable, cloud based systems building API's and fault tolerant architectures
