Software Engineer in Test - Security

MathWorks is seeking a smart, creative, and passionate Security Engineer in Test with demonstrated experience in penetration and product security testing. In this role, you will perform product security testing including penetration testing, threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and security feature validation. You will work on developing test infrastructure and tooling, as well as authoring automated tests to detect security bugs. You will be a part of our collaborative culture and engage with many cross-functional team members.

Responsibilities

* Perform manual and automated testing, applying security testing methodologies
* Run vulnerability scanning tools, identify security vulnerability owners, and generate actionable reports
* Work with owners to successfully remediate identified security vulnerabilities
* Work with infrastructure and application teams to provide remediation guidance
* Collaborate with internal security team to enhance remediation processes
* Automate vulnerability scanning operations and integrate security tools with our CI system
* Develop metrics and dashboards for reporting on environment risk and remediation progress

Minimum Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or Cyber Security; Master's degree is preferred
* Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration tools
* Good understanding of cryptography standards
* Passion for keeping up with current security threats
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Independent and self-motivated
* Excellent communication skills and desire to work with multiple teams
