The MATLAB Toolbox team is one of the most core teams in MathWorks who designs and develops the numerical computing, data analytics, data pre-processing and data import/export tools and functionalities that are available in MATLAB.

As a Software Engineer in Test for this team, the engineer will participate in projects from their early design stages and play a critical role in driving them to final product release. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing test plans, creating automated test suites, developing test tooling and infrastructure for running automated tests, verifying bug fixes and conducting hands-on testing. As a member of the Quality Engineering team, the engineer will not only be contributing to our final product release but also play a critical role in evolving our Test Bed for future scalability.

Responsibilities

* Review software requirements and design documents and provide testing-related feedback
* Qualify product in detail through automated and interactive testing
* Implement automated functional and non-functional tests and integrate them into our CI system
* Build test tools and infrastructure for automated tests
* Modify our code base to improve testability
* Report bugs and verify fixes

Minimum Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.
* Programming experience with MATLAB

Additional Qualifications

* Experience with Object Oriented Design and Development
* Data Analytics experience in Python or R is nice to have
* Experience with Big Data tools and technologies is nice to have
* Programming experience in C++ is nice to have
* Hands on experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, UNIX) and scripting
* Previous experience in Software Development or Software Testing is nice to have.
