Job Description

Microsoft's OS Group is building the Windows 10 operating system and core user experiences to power the devices which will delight a billion users in this mobile first, cloud first world. Our Wireless Core team delivers the platform which provides NFC, Location, and advanced cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity, leveraging the latest technologies. The team driving the Always Connected device implements stacks spanning modern application interfaces down to the hardware modem interface with ample space for innovation and key user experiences. Members of the wireless team have expertise in Windows OS kernel drivers, user mode services and modern applications, in addition to core knowledge of Wi-Fi, 3GPP/3GPP2 protocols, including the latest in packet-switched voice, video telephony, and IMS/RCS services.

Basic Qualifications:

* BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 6+ years of industry experience in designing, developing and shipping high performance and scalable software

Preferred Qualifications:

* C/C++ and C# experience
* Cellular and/or Wifi technologies
* Security and cryptography
* Networking protocols
* Operating system internals
* Performance Analysis and Optimization
* High throughout networking stacks and drivers
* Telemetry and data analytics
* Embedded System Design and Integration
* Debugging techniques/tools

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

* Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

As an engineer in the Mobile Connectivity team, you will be working on the next generation wireless connectivity standards and experiences. Our teams combine development and feature validation and robustness. As a platform team, we deliver to many partners inside and outside of Microsoft. Working across Program management, and the Quality organization, you will contribute to delivering the next generation of Mobile products and experiences.
