We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is tenacious about understanding what developers need and brings positive energy to help the team move forward. You'll work closely with the .NET Core and Xamarin teams on shaping foundational pieces of these platforms.

Your primary responsibilities will be working on the LLVM code-generation backed for .NET Core that powers Xamarin Mobile platform and WebAssembly solution as well as other .NET Core workloads. This includes the ahead-of-time compiler, LLVM optimisations pipeline, cross-platform support, and integration with existing and new products. If you are passionate about developers' tools, relentless about making any code faster, excited by continually learning in an ever-changing environment and market, and above all love to focus on customers and building products they love, we want to hear from you!

We expect you to be an expert on .NET and API design, including developing libraries and toolkits with a large number of users. We are looking for a strong technical engineer who also has high passion and empathy for customers, delivering high-quality customer value and a growth mindset.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of professional experience designing and developing high-quality software in C/C++ or C#

2+ years of experience developing compilers (LLVM / .NET CoreCLR is preferred) or system software (OS)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience contributing to the Open Source community

Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across the globe

Excellent communication skills including high English proficiency

Experience with developing or contributing to an open source project

Experience working with the GitHub repository

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
