The IoT team is on an exciting journey to enable industry platforms with a highly secure and supported OS that enables intelligent computing on diverse silicon at the edge. Are you passionate about building secure, reliable systems that power billions of devices? Then look no farther than the IoT team. We own the definition of the OS that will power the billions of devices that are getting connected every day. The team owns software stack both on the edge and complimentary services on the cloud that power innovative secure offerings like the recently announced ROS on Windows and Trusted Cyber Physical Systems. Our team is right at the forefront of defining and implementing what edge intelligence and computing looks like on IoT devices.

Basic Qualifications:

* BS/MS in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering (preferably combined) or equivalent
* 5+ years of experience developing software for shipping products.
* 3+ years of experience developing firmware and Kernel mode drivers.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Solid programming skills in C/C++ and fluent understanding of computer science concepts
* Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to independently design, implement and test complete components
* Demonstrate experience designing, developing and testing kernel mode device drivers
* Understanding of SoC architectures, ARM and Intel cores, buses and peripherals

* Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

By joining our team, you will be exposed to the latest in IoT and you will craft its evolution. In this specific role you will help build frameworks of performant firmware and system software for new SoC systems, collaborate with other teams within Microsoft and OEM partners to help influence how the industry will adopt intelligent edge computing. You will help build firmware components that expose unique silicon capabilities, such as secure Trust Zone, GPU, MCU, DSP to applications running on supported rich OS platforms.
