The Release and Delivery Experience (RDX) team is at the heart of Office release operations that impact every single Office user, no matter what application they use. Every month, we release dozens of updates to hundreds of millions of end-users world-wide, along with documentation describing the security and quality improvements our customers can expect.
The RDX In-Market Release Management team owns the tools, automation and services that keep hundreds of millions of perpetually licensed Office users up-to-date and better secured every month with high-quality updates. Our experiences allow the product teams to efficiently deliver their product improvements to customers all over the world. We are excited that our tools, services and skills are increasingly being leveraged to improve the efficiency and quality of the Microsoft 365 releases as well. We are looking for Software Engineers passionate about engineering scalable services to join us in this impactful and rewarding mission. We operate in a Combined Engineering model, and our engineers are responsible for design, coding, validation and operation of the service.
* A Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (or 3+ years' equivalent experience)
* At least 3+ years' experience writing in C# or C++
* Demonstrated CS fundamentals, technical design and coding skills
* Demonstrated success in executing against a software development schedule
* Proven ability to design and develop loosely coupled, componentized, and unit-tested software
* Demonstrated software validation skills
* Knowledge of services fundamentals and SQL is a plus

You will engineer the experiences that enable all of Office to update their products efficiently, make release-related decisions, understand the quality of our builds and communicate effectively with our IT admins. We partner with teams across Office, Windows and all of Microsoft in pursuit of our mission.
We're looking for a developer who is passionate about working in services, user experiences and data. The ideal candidate will be a proficient software engineer who has experience in shipping software in an agile delivery environment while maintaining high code quality. You should have experience working across the entire service engineering lifecycle from inception through successful release to customers. You will have the opportunity to work closely with various engineering teams across Office to help shape the future of how we release Office to millions of customers on multiple platforms.
