Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team responsible for developing next generation multi-spectral (infrared, low light and visible light) imaging systems. At FLIR, we continually strive to provide our customers with a Mission-Critical Advantage by applying leading edge technology to every product that we design. The work entails the design and implementation of advanced, real-time, image processing algorithms that execute on state of the art vision processors, employing multiple VLIW cores and a variety of hardware accelerators. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently on complex systems and collaborate in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

* BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant software engineering experience is required.
* The successful candidate will have a proven record that demonstrates the ability to design and implement complex software subsystems.
* This experience should include all phases of the software development life cycle, from product inception, through design, implementation, new product introduction and support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Complete command of the C/C++ programming language is required. Exposure to object-oriented design methods and concepts is required.
* Familiarity with the related software development, configuration management and bug tracking tools that are assumed.
* The ability to design and implement real-time, embedded, software systems, using asymmetric multiprocessing techniques, in a multithreaded environment, is desirable.
* Exposure to commercial, real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks, ThreadX, MQX, etc.) and Linux is also desirable.
* Familiarity with the Qt Application Framework is a plus.
