Forward Slope currently has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team. The position is located in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:

The scope of the work includes architecture, design, analysis and support of C4ISR systems at the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center (SSC) Pacific. This effort will address software engineering on a variety of programs such as DCGS-N Inc 2 and ACS 3. This position requires candidate to be familiar with a wide variety of enterprise and big data software packages.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics and five (5) years of technical experience at the systems-level in DoD projects.
* Valid non-expired Security+, CISSP, CASP, or equivalent certification.
* Working Linux/UNIX knowledge (including scripting: bash/perl/python/ruby).
* Proficient in Java with experience in J2EE, SOA, and ROA based designs.
* Proficient with RDBMS and NoSQL solutions (ElasticSearch and PostgreSQL highly desirable).
* Experience with software modeling/UML tools (e.g. DODAF) and UML diagrams.
* Experience with Systems Integration and Complex system analysis.
* Experience gathering and analyzing data to determine system requirements.
* Experience developing work plans and estimates as they relate to systems integration work tasks and team members.
* Experience designing and implementing tests to verify proper system operation.
* Ability to research, evaluate, and recommend solutions and technologies based on customer needs.
* Experience with drafting technical instructions, engineering plans, technical designs, and other systems integration related documents.
* Experience with Configuration Management, DevOps, and Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Git, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Ansible.

Desired Qualifications:

* Knowledge of DoD Systems such as ACS, DCGS-N, MTC2, GCCS-M.
* Experience with Web Application servers such as JBoss EAP, Tomcat, Jetty.
* Experience with development of applications using cloud and big data technologies like Kafka, Storm, Spark, Hadoop, Accumulo, ElasticSearch, Cloudera/HortonWorks.
* Experience with Messaging protocols and frameworks such as JMS, Websockets, Avro, Protobuf, AMQP.
* Experience with Mapping technologies such as CJMTK/ArcGIS, GeoMesa, GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers.
* Experience with Web Front End Development, OWF/OZP, HTML5, JavaScript, React, Node.JS, NPM, Redux, and other Javascript libraries.
* Experience with developing applications and specifications with Swagger/OpenAPI.
* Experience with Agile Software Methodologies and tools.
* Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, AWS, Azure, and developing within a virtualized/containerized environment.
* Commercial certification or a certificate of completion for Linux+ (LX0-101, LX0-102).

* Active SCI Clearance.
