Job Description

Every immune system has a story to tell- the key is knowing how to listen. Our goal is to meaningfully improve people's lives by learning from the wisdom of their adaptive immune systems. It's a bold objective that we're uniquely built to achieve.

At Adaptive, you'll be challenged, you'll be inspired, and you'll be part of an innovative organization making a real impact on improving the quality of life globally. No matter what your role is, you'll find a diverse, team-driven, fun culture where your contributions truly count.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable Software Engineer with extensive experience to support development and ongoing maintenance of Adaptive's production data analysis pipelines and clinical reporting software. In addition to other engineers, this position will work closely with project management, development leads, and QA by helping to design and then implement software solutions integral to Adaptive's current and future engineering road maps.

Job Responsibilities:

The software you create will be used to directly support patient care and drive new research discoveries. You will work on a fast-paced team of developers in a cross-disciplinary environment, collaborating on new products and features with coworkers ranging from biologists, to business owners, to data analysts. Therefore, strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences are crucial. No biology background is required, but you will learn the basics of immunology, DNA sequencing, and PCR while on the job.

You will be involved with all the development phases of software that supports Adaptive's data analysis pipelines, clinical report generation, and related internal products. This role requires extensive experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, and/or C++. You will also interact with a wide variety of languages and frameworks, including, but not limited to: Java, Python, JavaScript, Perl, R, Bash, PostgreSQL, Play Framework, and Docker.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
* 2+ years of relevant experience
* Extensive experience with a strongly typed object-oriented language
* Experience with a scripting language
* Ability to interact and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred:

* Java and Python experience
* Full-stack web application experience

Relational database experience
* Concurrent or distributed computing experience
* Prior involvement/responsibility for Concept-to-Production ownership of a complete product
* An advanced degree
* Experience with regulated software development
* Experience with Linux applications spread across a hybrid cloud environment (AWS, Azure, collocation facility)
