Responsibilities

Fandango is looking for Android Mobile Software Engineers at all levels. As a software engineer working on our customer facing applications, you will work with a team of other software engineers to deliver projects and features critical to Fandango's business. We expect our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic about taking on new problems across our businesses as we continue to build great experiences for fellow movie fans.

Responsibilities:

* Build and release features for high-profile eCommerce applications
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
* Perform code reviews and collaborate with peers on software solutions
* Interact with Product Managers and Quality Engineers to deliver high quality, high profile software and user experiences
* Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, retros, sprint planning, etc.)
* Troubleshoot and fix production issues as they occur

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

● BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

● 1-5 years of professional experience as a software engineer working in an Android Mobile capacity

● Familiarity with key Android development principles such as Activities, Fragments, View Binding, RecyclerView, Intents, XML Layouts, MVP/MVVM, Dependency Injection, Unit Test & Android Instrumentation Test, SQLite and NDK

● Proficiency with Java (Kotlin is a plus)

● Familiar with Android Studio and Git or other source code control systems

● Experience with one or more frameworks/libraries such as Android Support Library, Google Play Services, Firebase, OkHttp, Retrofit

● Experience developing consumer facing software, especially at scale

● Familiarity with test driven and behavioral driven development practices

● Experience working in an agile/Scrum environment

● Familiarity with the latest and greatest Android Jetpack frameworks (AndroidX, ViewModel/LiveData, ROOM, etc…)

● Strong sense of application design and attention to the fundamentals of user experience

● Familiarity with the breadth of mobile development including asynchronous backend network communication, navigation patterns, Material UI Design and Google Play Store app publishing

● Familiarity with Android productivity and build tools such as Gradle and Jenkins
