Job Description

"Software Engineer R&D" ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Position Duties: Develop, design, or modify applications software that supports linear fiber optic transmission technology and high-performance computing (HPC) technology for high-speed communication network infrastructures and telecommunications security; create technical design documentation; code, test, and implement assigned projects. Design new embedded responsive web application/server with different secure layer authorizations and field upgrade functionality running on an embedded Linux of ARM Cortex-A8 for NMS (Network Management System) card, simultaneously live monitoring and controlling multiple chassis and cards, applied with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, SQLite, and socket, supporting Windows, Linux, Android, iOS and Mac OS platforms wired and wirelessly; apply telecommunications security encryption and decryption methodology. Develop and implement data visualization tools for test station SQL database; apply multi-threading and high-performance computing (HPC) technology to accelerate the process, generating weekly reports in Excel sheet and test result query using C# WPF. Modify and build device-tree and kernel for supporting custom hardware configuration; generate a system that by providing APIs, automatically builds different modules for various new cards and chassis asynchronously through CAN-BUS without updating software. Design and migrate new CATV laser transmitter product AT3552 with ARM M3 micro-controller for unifying all development platform; write and restructure C code and Python GUI for controlling, monitoring laser characters including multi-threading, UART and error handling. Develop the firmware using C for NXP Micro-controller with field upgrade functionality live configuring and monitoring the video chips transmitting and receiving 4K video data and gathering information sending to the NMS card via UART and CAN. Apply an Android-based embedded test software using JAVA for debugging GXD chassis (Cross Point Matrix Video Switch) fixing crucial glitches that affect user experience. Support GitHub accounts for engineers sharing the source code for different projects; support and coordinate production and qualification department for transferring products from engineer to producer.

Requirements:

Minimum Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Courses taken in telecommunications security and high-performance computing (HPC).

Minimum Experience: 6 months of experience working as Software Engineer, R&D.
