Job Description

Engility is seeking a Software Engineer to work in San Diego, CA.

A qualified candidate will perform the following responsibilities, but are not limited to:

* Install, configure, and operate the Joint Warning and Reporting Network (JWARN), a web application (hosted by Tomcat) that includes a database system (Postgres).
* Troubleshoot problems with system installation.
* Ensure the JWARN web application and all dependent system components (e.g., other C2 systems, etc.) work properly together.
* Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems.
* Support the JWARN Chief Engineer in the design, development, modification, and analysis of the JWARN system and its components.
* Resolve program technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, equipment, etc.).
* Provide input and direction to Science and Technology (S&T) initiatives and needs and priorities targeted for DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) information system acquisition.
* Maintain awareness of S&T initiatives and trends (i.e., current and future technological products and tools).
* Build and implement verification procedures for the JWARN software that is delivered to JPM IS.
* Continue development of the JPM IS website and Cloud computing.
* Provide operational support of the tools used for tracking software requirements, schedules, and defects.
* Work in and fully understand various Service baseline architectures and C2 host systems for program installation and configuration.
* May be required to travel 25% of the time.
