Job Description

Forward Slope is seeking for a fast-learning software engineer to provide software development and support for the Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I) Storefront / Application Arsenal. Through the PEO C4I Storefront / Application Arsenal, Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific is developing and supporting capabilities that enable the Department of Defense (DoD) mission by providing the ability to quickly discover and access information, applications, services, and defense networking capabilities in web-based environments.

This position entails designing, developing, testing, integrating and deploying software systems related to the PEO C4I Storefront / Application Arsenal. The software suite is built on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), desiring candidates to have a history with Java development and a willingness to learn about DevOps principles and methodologies, including Jenkins, Git, Docker, Ansible, and OpenShift. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a distributed team environment, working independently, and being able to design, develop and test software threads that implement system features. This position requires that candidates be located in San Diego, California.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
* 3+ years software engineering experience related to enterprise systems, including experience with:
* Java and Java EE tools (i.e. Tomcat, Maven, JUnit, Selenium, Jenkins, Git)
* UI development with modern web technologies (i.e. HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS)
* Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services (i.e. REST, AJAX, JSON, XML)
* SQL and NoSQL database engineering (i.e. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
* Linux/Unix operating systems



Desired Qualifications:

* Software engineering experience with:
* DevOps engineering (i.e. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Vagrant)
* Containerization (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* Cloud computing infrastructure (i.e. AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government)
* Atlassian Suite (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)


* Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Certified

Other Requirements:

* Currently hold an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain one
