Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned individual to provide the role of Senior Director of Performance & Data Protection/Mobility in the fast-paced world of Oracle's Storage, Virtualization and Operating Systems (SVOS) organization. This person would be responsible for:

* Performance of all products across SVOS
* Solaris and ZFSSA ZFS File System
* Solaris and ZFSSA Virtual Memory Management
* Oracle Hierarchical Storage Management

The SVOS organization is responsible for:

* Linux Virtualization - OVM & oVirt
* Private Cloud Appliance & Private Cloud at Customer
* Solaris Operating System
* ZFS Storage Systems

This person would be responsible for Management of a small but very impactful team of engineers involved multiple products representing hardware and software designed together. This set of products represent a significant revenue stream for Oracle supporting hybrid cloud and gateway to the 2nd generation Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

This person would interface with all organizational team(s) as well as Service, Marketing, Business Ops, Finance, Operations, Development (SW and HW Engineering), Quality Engineering, Legal, Oracle PEO and OPC Ops and Program teams supporting OCI/OCI-C, SPARC, ZFSSA and PCA. But most importantly this person is integrating hardware and software to work together to create products that customers buy on-prem as well as in Oracle's Public Cloud.

Operational excellence in all these areas are critical to timely, repeatable, fiscally managed delivery of product. Roadmap and program delivery on these products are critical and mainstream to Oracle revenue.
