The Amazon Robotics software team is developing a complex material handling service oriented software system and robotic applications for deployment across a network of large-scale Amazon Order Fulfillment and Sortation Centers.

This role is responsible for technical guidance and leadership, scheduling, people management, reporting, and hiring. You will manage an established and growing team of software development engineers testing Amazon Robotics software, firmware and mobile application releases. You will collaborate with the software development teams and the manual QA team to deliver high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced environment. Team responsibilities include functional testing, regression and system testing using a combination of manual and automated testing.

An ideal candidate is an experienced Software Development manager with a development and/or QA background who can direct the activities of a growing team. The candidate should have experience with a variety of software QA tools and be able to apply QA process, practice and principles to Amazon Robotics software development and release process.

This role reports to the Director of QA.

Responsibilities:

* Define automation test strategy, tools and process for quality assurance of Amazon Robotics system and software
* Provide technical guidance and leadership for a group of at least 5-10 SDETs
* Define, rollout, and enforce best practice processes in the areas of functional, system and regression testing
* Develop test strategies, test plans, and test schedules for new projects and software releases
* Lead and direct the daily activities of 10-15 software QA engineers
* Oversee and report on the development, execution and results of test plans
* Participate in project planning and estimations
* Recruit, interview and hire new Software Development Engineers in Test
