Job Description

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.

We are seeking hands-on technologists with the depth and breadth to evaluate complex environments and technology stacks, and build/code/maintain efficient services and solutions. We use tools such as Java, Python, RESTful API, Docker, and more, in a DevOps, CI/CD, agile development environment. You will have a major impact on Oracle's business by transforming how Oracle's SaaS/Cloud applications are delivered and maintained for enterprises, and you will play a major role in the transformative journey that Oracle is going through towards the Cloud.

Job Requirements:

* BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent
* 10 years of software engineering and technical leadership with proven results in designing, implementing and maintaining complex systems and services
* 5 years as a people manager with proven track record of recruiting and onboarding a high performing team
* Proficient in hyper-scaled distributed systems and cloud implementations with proven track record in Performance, Scalability and Resiliency
* Deep understanding of cloud design patterns
* Comfortable in CI/CD and DevOps work styles
* Experienced with SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes
* Ability to mentor and coach engineering workforce

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

* Proficiencies with Java, RESTful API, micro-services, Python. Docker, and Kubernetes.
* Proven experience in test-driven development, with Jenkins experience a strong plus.
