How would you like to have the opportunity to be part of a new AWS service that will have impact in a market with customers like Twitch and Amazon Live ? We are looking for an exceptional engineering manager to be part of a world class of a growing team. This product will be a core building block that customers and other AWS services will use to build highly resilient video applications spanning the globe. This new service will be required to scale with AWS, which means the challenges here will be highly distributed in nature.

If you are passionate about media streaming, obsessed about enabling awesome video viewer experiences and want to participate in building and scaling the largest live video system, then this position is for you.

You should be somebody who is passionate about customers, and running a highly available distributed platform. You must enjoy a close-knit team environment of shared responsibility. The ideal candidate will have strong technical background and have deep experience defining new technical products from ambiguous requirements. The leader coming in will have to be technically deep, and capable of quickly coming up to speed on the technologies we work with here, and be able to coach engineers as we work through some of the most challenging problems at AWS.

This team will be based out of San Francisco, Ca, and we are sharing space and benefits with Twitch. The team will own end to end ownership of the core systems related to the new initiative. You will be responsible for growing this team and driving significant capabilities in coordination with the other teams based out of Seattle.
