Job Description

The Team: Amazon is working on several initiatives in physical retail including Amazon Go, Amazon Books and Whole Foods Market. This role will work to develop network infrastructure products that will support these initiatives.

The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 6+ highly skilled Network Development Engineers and Software Development Engineers. In addition, you will be responsible for end-to-end product ownership including architecture, software, tooling, standards, new builds and scale.

Responsibilities

* You'll lead the overall development life cycle of software solutions and manage complex projects with significant impact.
* Coordinate with your senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for product development.
* Assure that your team's designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
* Prioritize, plan projects and features, manage partners, and track external commitments.
* Monitor operation of production services to ensure Operational Excellence.
* Foster the career development of your direct reports.
