Owning storage infrastructure for the cloud requires continuous innovation and solid delivery. The Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) provides a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. To make this happen, Amazon S3 needs to build teams with the passion to handle the toughest problems in distributed systems.

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to spearhead a key area of the Amazon S3 request plane, the S3 Throttling development team. As a leader driving this area, you will focus on the challenges of writing software that controls and shapes S3 traffic at high-scale to maximize customers' availability and throughput, minimize latency or control cost. You will define, plan and execute on deliverables that break ground in enabling new customer-facing features. You will dig into the details of high-scale API request processing and throttling techniques, and look around corners for innovations in this space. You will grow a team to build solutions that impact a wide swath of customers with a focus on high standards in coding, testing, and delivery.
