Interested in building highly distributed media delivery systems? The Media Services and Applications team owns the pipeline used to manage and deliver images, video, and other media assets for the websites and devices of Amazon and its partners. As a core team within Amazon's Customer Experience Technology group, our goal is to build technologies that will be used across Amazon to deliver a rich and immersive experience to our customers globally. We're looking for talented leaders to help build the next generation of our platform, dramatically changing the way customers interact with Amazon's products.

As Software Development Manager of Media Services, you will build a world-class team of software engineers and technical managers. Your customers are Amazon engineers who build everything from the Kindle devices and Digital products, to the Consumer Website teams who build Amazon.com and other Retail Website applications. You will collaborate with leaders around the company to understand complex business and technical requirements and then innovate on their behalf to empower their developers in ways they didn't know were possible. Your products will allow tens of thousands of software engineers to build systems used by hundreds of millions of Amazon customers.

You know what it means to build and support platforms with thousands of users and how to support whip-smart engineers as customers. You know how to move at the speed of modern business while maintaining world-class SLAs for availability and performance. You're comfortable clearly communicating technical problems and solutions. You can distill complex ideas into goals and milestones and crystalize strategy into simple, straight-foward writing. You know how to measure and relentlessly improve platform reliability and performance.
